Introduction

MicroscopeFor as long as man has occupied planet Earth, he has searched for ways of living a longer, more healthful life. There is clear evidence throughout the historical record that this is indeed the case. Man’s perpetual quest for long-lived youth has been referred to variously as the elixir of life, the universal panacea, the philosopher’s stone, and perhaps most well-known—the fountain of youth.

In recent historical times it was Juan Ponce de León, the Spanish explorer and shipmate of Christopher Columbus, who is said to have searched for the Fountain of Youth in the area which is now the State of Florida. This elixir of the ageless, allegedly a well or spring which would restore youth to persons who drank of its waters, is only a recent apocryphal recitation on the same theme, having been repeated many times in our distant history. The pursuit of this goal represents nothing short of man’s perpetual quest for immortality. From historical times to the present, this never-ending search has remained in the forefront of man’s consciousness, as if emblazoned into the human psyche for all time.

Over the past several decades—and in particular the last several years—great strides have been made in the fields of anti-aging and life-extension research regarding over-the-counter nutritional supplementation that can address and ameliorate many of the physical pathways leading to early aging and age-related health challenges. It is both the quantity and quality of life individuals seek to improve by ameliorating the aging process—the process which in essence is the cumulative damage on a cellular and molecular level that increases one’s vulnerability to illness as we age.

LaboratoryThe quality of one’s life-span—i.e., a healthy life-span—not the quantity (duration), is termed the health-span. It simply means the number of years one lives a healthy life, not necessarily the number of years one survives. By supplementing the diet with certain "age management" ingredients, there is a significant potential of achieving an increased (maximized/lengthened) health-span—hence, a more graceful transition into old age. The essential attribute of a lengthened health span is a decreased number of "sick years," thus allowing a smoother transition between the stages of mid-life to senior citizenship.

This decrease in sick years is called "compression of morbidity," which basically means that following a good age management regimen will potentially decrease the frequency, duration, and severity of health challenges over one's lifetime and compress them at the very end, if ill health occurs at all. This compression of morbidity implies a "falling off the edge of the cliff" effect—where one is able to maintain good health throughout the life span, and quickly and peacefully falls off the edge at the very end—as opposed to "the mountain effect" where one peaks at the age of 50-55, and thereafter gradually slips downhill.

Because of recent scientific breakthroughs in nutritional supplementation, people now have an opportunity to personally and positively affect their own health as they traverse the path from middle age to senior citizenship. Each reader must make a personal decision about their own involvement in following these anti-aging supplementation strategies, as it's easy to assume the position of, "It sounds good, but this may not be right for me" or, "It sounds too good to be true." On the other hand, thoughtful consideration of the following question will likely bring this issue into sharper personal focusLab Testing:

What Is The Most Important Thing In Your Life?

Would you say... money, fame & fortune, relationships such as a spouse, family or friends? Whatever your answer, there’s one thing that’s high on most peoples’ lists: Your Good Health and Longevity—i.e., a long, healthy life.

It’s really our continued good health that forms the foundation for all of the other good things that may come our way in life—friends, family, a good job, money, notoriety, and so forth. In fact, you’ve probably heard it said many times that “without your good health, all the money in the world would be useless!” The high rate of suicide among lottery winners and the elevated rate of drug use among the rich and famous only further substantiates this point. Our good health is indeed priceless, and all other things in life pale in comparison without its robust presence. Therefore, based upon this understanding, the question—“Is it worth my time, effort, and financial investment to take an age management formula such as TimeGuard™—can be answered with a resounding YES!   Next Page  >>>
