Body-Building & Weight Loss

by Susan Guyer

I read Fats That Heal, Fats That Kill about three years ago, cover-to-cover in a matter of days. At the time I was working with a trainer to build more muscle and reduce fat. I was not making much progress, mainly because I didn’t have the energy to train three days a week along with the cardio the trainer recommended.

The research detailed in Udo's book convinced me to invest in the Perfected Oil Blend.

As soon as I tasted it I knew that this was something I could easily integrate into my diet. Over a period of months I started getting stronger, mainly because I had so much more energy. Within a year the trainer was suggesting that I do a body building show! I laughed at the idea then, and every time he mentioned it over the last two years.

This last June, my trainer talked me into doing a small local show. I started training for the show in July at 139 pounds and about 19% body fat. The diet he made up for me was quite easy for me to follow. The show was scheduled for September 15th, and he wanted me at 131 pounds, 13 % body fat. I was determined to maintain my daily measure of three tablespoons of Udo's Oil Blend and one table-spoon of Wholesome Fast Food. He was fine with this, thank goodness.

Although he has done diets for some top competitors in the professional Fitness Girls field (including the current champion Kelly Ryan and one of the top fitness models, Laurie Vaniman), I was a challenge because I am a vegetarian.

So, I was put on four egg whites a day (eggs from free-range chickens purchased at the local farmers’ market), two protein drinks daily (soy and whey) and supplements of branch chains and glutamine complex.

He said that he could get me down primarily with cardio, rather than restrictive diet and fat burners, the latter of which I need to avoid because of mitral valve prolapse.

On August 16th I turned 62 years of age. By the week of the show I was at 132 pounds and 13 ½% body fat. My energy level throughout was fantastic! I was training three times a week and doing at least an hour and a half of cardio seven days a week, while working 40 hours a week.

From the beginning of this “journey” until this minute I credit Udo's Choice Perfected Oil Blend for giving the energy, the stamina and the ability to avoid all of the germs that were always floating around in the gym. I feel better than I did thirty years ago!

Included here are three pictures taken at the show. I had a blast! And, until they announced my class, no one knew how old I was!Thank you, Udo, for a book that has become my good health bible and some excellent products that I will continue to use as long as I can get them.

Sincerely, Susan Guyer
